Tips from Mochi
No timer means no pressure – but a few habits make boards much smoother. Here is what Mochi has learned from watching thousands of games from the windowsill.
Look before you tap
Find both tiles of a pair before you tap the first one. Then the tray never fills with lonely tiles.
Clear the tall stacks first
Tiles on high layers cover many others. Freeing them early opens up the most choices.
Open the long rows from the ends
Long rows only open from the left and right. Working from the ends keeps both sides moving.
Keep one slot free
A full tray ends the level, so only put a tile in the last free slot when it completes a pair.
Save the lucky paw
The lucky paw pairs with anything, so keep it for the tile that is hardest to reach.
Let bells ring
Bell tiles clear themselves once both are free. Free them together for bonus dried fish.
Watch the yarn count
The number on a yarn tangle tells you how many pairs to clear. Count down to it on purpose.
Undo is your friend
If a move closes off the board, take it back. Undos are limited, so save them for real mistakes.
Shuffle when truly stuck
Shuffle mixes the remaining tiles. Use it when no pair is open, not just when the next pair is hard to see.
Take breaks
Mochi naps when you rest. The board waits, and fresh eyes spot pairs faster.
