Frequently asked questions
Is Mochi Mahjong free?
Yes. Version 1.0 is free, with no ads and no in-app purchases.
Do I need the internet or an account?
No. The game works completely offline and there is no account or sign-in.
Which devices does it run on?
iPhone and iPad. An Android version is planned.
Is there a time limit?
No. Nothing counts down. A quick clear only adds a small time bonus to your score.
How many levels are there?
More than 1000 tuned levels, plus a new daily challenge every day.
Which languages can I play in?
33 languages. The game follows your device language, and you can change it in Settings.
Is it easy to read for older eyes?
Yes. The tiles are drawn as large as the screen allows, and Settings has larger text sizes, a warm night light and a reduce-motion option.
Where is my progress saved?
Only on your device. Moving to a new iPhone or iPad with iCloud Backup or Quick Start usually brings it along. If you delete the app, your progress is deleted too.
What is the tray?
The row of four slots under the board. Tiles you tap wait there, and two identical tiles vanish as a pair.
What do I do when I run out of hints?
Clearing levels 3, 6, 10 and 20 gives you extra tools, and from level 10 there is a small daily gift of hints, shuffles and undos. You can also trade dried fish, or share the game with a friend once a day.
Who is Mochi?
Mochi is the round little cat who lives in the game. It reacts to your moves, gets hungry, naps, grows from kitten to grown cat and loves new outfits. You can rename it.
Is this gambling mahjong?
No. Mochi Mahjong is mahjong solitaire, a single-player tile-matching puzzle. There is no betting and no money involved.
Does the game collect my data?
No. It collects no personal data, has no tracking and never goes online. See the privacy policy.
